BIO: John Coleman Bennett's story starts on the page and passed to the plectrum. An accomplished poet published in some of the country's finest literary journals and anthologies, he moved from lyric poetry to song lyrics performing around New England and beyond. John plays a blend of dust bowl and protest folk that engages his poignant verse with a tinny, part playful/part provocative acoustic guitar. John was a winner of the 2025 New England Songwriting Competition, a semi-finalist of the 2024 Unsigned Only awards, and a finalist of the 2023 Rose Garden Coffeehouse songwriter competition. He is set to release his debut album, This Machine, in September 2025.
